Bunk Beds can be fun pieces of furniture in children’s rooms and give great sleeping options. Like any furniture purchase, picking out a bunk bed that is right for your child and your child’s room is important. Bunk Beds are excellent at bringing in different sleeping options that can allow for multiple children to sleep together in one room, or can just be a space saving option that helps give more floor play area to the room.

Over the past several years, Bunk Beds have changed quite a bit offering children and parents numerous options. What used to be a simple bunk bed, has transformed in to Tri-bunk beds, all-in-one bunk beds that have desks built in and has even brought in Loft Beds that can have a bed on top and space below. Why we chose Young America Furniture from Stanley

I’ve carefully chosen the lines we carry at Pippin McGee and wanted to share with you the reasons I chose Stanley Young America furniture as one of the manufacturer’s whose lines we proudly carry. This will also give you an insight into what to look for when you are trying to choose a manufacturer or brand of products for your children’s furniture needs.

With a long standing name like Stanley Furniture, it was a natural for them to decide to get in to the children’s furniture. Why not, they already made quality furniture at a great value, they had all of the production in place, and great people that continue to bring a family environment to the company and great leaders at the helm that can see that parents want their children to have the very best. The next step was how to do it properly. Many furniture companies have jumped in to the children’s furniture end, but not many have done it to the extent that Stanley Young America has by making sure that they have met and exceeded the safety guidelines as well as setting numerous standards in the industry like: Continue Reading »

Sitting Bull USA - Bean Bags, Fashion Bags, Round Bean Bags

Our Search for the ultimate bean bag…..

After numerous requests for bean bags, I went on the hunt for not just any bean bag, but the ultimate bean bag that was stylish and functional and that could hold up against my two children and still meet my standards. After studying and testing numerous brands and styles of bean bags, we ultimately chose the Sitting Bull company and their unique and stylish take on the old bean bag.

I love the great color choices that they have and the big style that allows a child or a grown up to sit in the bean bag, but it wasn’t until I got the bean bag home and put it in the playroom with the kids that I realized how great this bean bag is. My 5 year old was able to lay on it while watching a movie on one side while my daughter was able to curl up on the other side and take a nap and both got their own individual space and for once seemed perfectly content sitting right next to each other. What a unique concept. Continue Reading »

Pippin Mcgee News…for 2008

We hope your New Year has started well and wish you joy and abundance in the coming year! We have been a little behind on posting to the blog in the new year and we apologize about that. We’ve been tied up with moving the physical store and going through a few challenges of starting up at the new location. Despite all the planning that went into it, we ran into a few hurdles but are glad most of that is behind us!

The good news is - the new location (for our local customers) - is a fabulous and fun spot to shop at and we will be reopening this weekend (12th of January, 2008) with many new products we’ve researched and selected over the last few months. The new location is at:

1800 Kaliste Saloom - right by Fresh Market at Main Street, River Ranch.

Here’s wishing all of you a fantastic year ahead again!

Six Decorating Themes for Boy’s Rooms

I don’t know why we feel that we need a theme in our kids rooms, but for some reason we all gravitate to that idea. I think it helps us get a visual of how the room will come out and what colors we can work with, and just generally puts our mind at rest that we actually have a plan. There are lots of great themes for boys’ rooms that cover all age ranges.

The main thing that you will want to keep in mind is that your little one will be growing and will change faster than you realize and might even pop up one day with an opinion. So, you can either go full throttle in to a theme that is something you both will love at this point, or you try to figure out something that is a happy medium between a full throttle theme and what they may like 5 years from now. Keep in mind, many people enjoy redoing their children’s rooms so if you fall in to that category, then have fun and go all out for a great theme that will make him love to dream, entertain and sleep in his favorite room in the house.
